October 09-11, 2015 year EPSAYA public union implemented the 3 days training courses in frame of the “Raising of communication and participation of the young electors in the parliamentary elections” with the financial support (7000 AZN) of the Youth Foundation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for the 26 young participants from the 14 different regions (Aghstafa, Astara, Baku, Barda, Ganja, Gakh, Gazakh, Lankaran, Mingachevir, Nakhchivan, Sumgait, Shaki, Yardimly and Yevlakh) of Azerbaijan in AB Qala Hotel, Lankaran city. 19 boys and 7 girls have participated in the training courses. It should be noted that before the training courses 71 young applicants (42 boys and 29 girls) from 25 different regions of Azerbaijan (Absheron, Aghjabadi, Aghdam, Aghstafa, Astara, Baku, Barda, Bilasuvar, Dashkasan, Ganja, Goranboy, Imishli, Kurdamir, Gakh, Gazakh, Lerik, Lankaran, Mingachevir, Nakhchivan, Sumgait, Shaki, Shamkir, Tovuz, Yardimly and Yevlakh) have applied to the organization for the participation in the training courses. Besides the staff of the organization Mrs. Konul Manafova and Mr. Aydin Mammadov, the Senior advisors of the Department of Public-Political and Humanitarian issues of Lankaran City Executive Power, as well as Mr. Mehman Aliyev, the representative of Lankaran city Youth and Sport Department in the guest sort, and also Mr. Samid Abbasov, the Secretary and Mr. Malik Bakhshiyev, the member of Lankaran city Constituency Election Commission number 73 in the expert sort have participated in the training courses, shared their knowledge and experiences with the youth and answered the questions of the participants. During the training courses the staff and the participants discussed a lot of themes in the field of conduct of elections to the Milli Majlis – “Election Code of the Azerbaijan Republic: main definition and principles, Principles of participation in elections and referendum: universal, equal and direct suffrage, Possession of active and passive suffrage, Cases of citizens’ non-participation in voting, Election and referendum bodies: election (referendum) commissions system (the Central Election Commission, Constituency Election Commission, Precinct Election Commission), Voters’ (citizens who have the right to participate in referendum) lists, Basis for participation of political parties and blocs of political parties in elections (referendums), Nomination and registration of candidates during elections, Conduct of elections (referendum): organization of voting (voting room, election ballot papers and voting protocols, ballot boxes, rules for voting and vote counting etc.), Complaints on and accountability for violation of citizens’ right to vote, General provisions on elections of deputies to the Milli Majlis, Nomination and registration of candidates during elections to the Milli Majlis and Conduct of elections to the Milli Majlis: voting room, election ballot papers, rules for voting”. During the training courses the staff used different training methods like interactive group discussions, debates, simulations, presentations, focus group discussions, role-playing games and energizers as well as watching to the different social videos related to the topics throughout the entire session. The staff also discussed the future activities of the project, especially implementing of the press conference about the project achievements, results and conclusion with the participants on November 07, 2015 in Lankaran. At the end of the training courses certificates and corresponding booklets in the field of conduct of elections to the Milli Majlis have been presented to all participants. In the end the participants and the staff, as well as the guests and experts gave their views on the project and thanked to the donor – the Youth Foundation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for implementing such kind of actual project for the youth.
